Editorial policy
Honest Outdoor Living aims to make outdoor life easier to understand, not to make every choice sound certain. We value clear explanations, fair comparisons and useful limits on what a general article can tell a reader.
Accuracy and clarity
We check names, terminology and factual claims before publication and make wording as specific as the subject allows. Where conditions, materials or local requirements change what is appropriate, we say so rather than offering a universal answer. We do not invent testing, expertise or personal experience.
Independence and partner material
Editorial decisions are made separately from commercial arrangements. Paid, gifted or otherwise partner-supported material is clearly identified in the relevant article or placement. A partnership does not guarantee favourable coverage, and we do not let a partner determine an editorial conclusion.
Corrections
We take credible reports of errors seriously. When a factual mistake is confirmed, we correct the text and add a clear note when the change affects a reader's understanding. Readers can send a correction request through the Contact page, naming the article and explaining the concern.
Illustrations
Some illustrations may be generated with artificial intelligence. Illustrations are not evidence that a place, product, plant or project was photographed or tested by Honest Outdoor Living.
Outside is part of home
Outdoor space need not be large or polished to matter. We focus on choices that make it more welcoming, useful and connected to the natural world.
